Animated projects often involve lots of content that not just have to look good, but also have to render well. For this reason, it is imperative to know where to acquire the proper 3D content. Luckily iClone is compatible with assets from many 3D marketplaces.

Director Jason J. Brown is a well-known iClone artist, and fan, that is credited with iClone animated music projects like the the Mood Indigo music video. This time he shares with us, the Zombie Angel Poetry Slam (by TUK) video, where he chroma keyed live actor footage and combined it with Unity Asset Store scenery and props, inside iClone’s realtime 3D engine.

iClone stands out as being the most accessible and easy-to-learn 3D animation application — but that doesn’t mean it’s not professionally powerful. On the contrary, it’s filled with clever features that make complex animation hyper easy!

Also, iClone’s latest version has boosted the quality of its renders, including PBR materials, Image Based Lighting with HDR pictures, and Global Illumination, and because of this, it has motivated us to start creating models of vehicles for iClone, that not just look good, but that thanks to the improved render features, help people with their animations.

So I included features like emissive materials or parts that can be manipulated individually. Objects like the doors, the steering wheel, the gear level, and the pedals are all interactive sub-props that can be rotated or reached by the characters of a scene. Helping to create convincing driving animations.

In addition, the 4 Wheel structure provided by Reallusion’s Physics Toolbox, allows one to actually drive the vehicles over the iClone terrains while recording their motions in real-time. It facilitates the animation of the vehicles, as the spinning of the wheel are automatically synchronized with the motion of the car, depending on its speed, while it follows the slopes and irregularities of the terrain.

This is an overview tutorial of the pipeline I followed to create these models and how they can be easily animated in iClone.

The Creative Media Industries Institute at Georgia State University hosted the inaugural US round of the Reallusion ASIAGRAPH 48hr Animation Jam June 29, 30 and July 1st 2018.  The participating students represented Georgia State University, Savannah College of Art and Design and Interns and recent grads that are now working with Cartoon Network and Adult Swim.

My name is Benjamin Sokomba Dazhi. I am from Nigeria. I have been doing animations since 2014, and I am always developing myself in it.

I am an animator and I mostly use iClone as my main animation software tool. I am very passionate about animation and I hope soon I will create a fully animated movie using iClone, because I really love it. In my country Nigeria, there are very few animation studios but we are beginning to grow in numbers. For now I am working alone as an indie animator, but I am planning on building a team later on!

Mark Pleasant formed Small Wonder Studio (SWS) right out of college in 1973, and never looked back. Since then he has been producing, directing, and shooting original productions, music videos, TV commercials, documentaries and 3D animation for clients around the world.

Located in Nashville Tennessee, SWS has worked with many of the record companies, clients include: RCA Records, Curb Records, BMG and Disney’s Lyric Street Records also many independent labels. Mark has served as a lighting cameraman for ABC’s “Good Morning America” and for the CBS Television Network when they came to Nashville. Working in film & video and digital-media, Mark has tackled a variety of production assignments, and in all of this he has also become a long-time iClone advocate.

Hi my name is Orly Rodriguez. I am 43 years old and I started making video games only four months ago. I always dreamed of becoming a professional game developer, but I never imagined it would have happened so fast.

It all started for me when I decided to take a Virtual Reality Bootcamp at Game Art Institute. I began spending day and night doing everything I could to learn Unity, Blender and anything else I could get my hands on.

One day I was watching Twin Peaks: The Return, and I had this crazy thought… I should make The Black Lodge from the show in VR. A few days later I was standing in that very room. It was absolutely surreal. Now, I have a small development team called Nothing Like You Productions. We love what we do and we are passionate about creating virtual reality experiences at an unprecedented level of immersion.

Thanks to tools like iClone and Character Creator we have been able to achieve things that normally would have been impossible for us.

Solomon Jagwe

My name is Solomon W. Jagwe and I am a Ugandan 3D artist, Animator and sculptor.

Currently I reside in the US, but I hail from a small landlocked paradise tucked away in the interior of the East African Coast – the area known as ZANJ land during colonial times. The name is Uganda. I grew up on the outskirts of the capital city – Kampala, on the slopes of a hill called Mutundwe. My early childhood was in the country side – Masaka, far from the rumbles of the city traffic.

While in Uganda, I worked for 3 companies. Infosat – as a website developer and artist, Photo Magic – as a photo processor and photographer and C&MS – as an artist and web development instructor. After graduating from secondary school – A Level, I came to the US in 1996 to complete my degree in Art. I graduated in the Spring of 1999. I attended Ohio Valley University, Montgomery College and George Mason University. I majored in Art and Visual Technology with an Emphasis on 3D Environment Design and modeling, Character Modeling and Animation, Vehicle Modeling and Simulation.
